Volunteer Fire Department


The McGregor Volunteer Fire Department is a 100% volunteer fire department that provides emergency service to the City of McGregor and the surrounding area.  The McGregor Volunteer Fire Deparment covers 110 sq miles, one airport, Space X, two highways, and around 10,000 people.  The fire department prides itself on the ability to cover the 911 district and still maintain community involvement.

Ever thought about joining a volunteer fire department?  Want to get involved in your community?  McGregor VFD is looking for volunteers just like you!


-Must be atleast 18 years of age

-Acceptable driving record

-Generally good health

-Minimal criminal history

-Have good moral and character

-Live within 15 minute response time of McGregor

McGregor VFD trains every Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  Feel free to stop by station 1 (302 S. Madison Ave) and visit us.  It will give you the chance to learn what a volunteer fire department does, and if you are interested, we will speak with you about joining.  Females and minorities are encouraged to join!
